La Terrazza - our garden magazine hosted on Substack, tells the story of the oldest garden in Venice, and the monastery of which it was part, once the largest and richest in the Lagoon. A sanctuary of the forgotten Lagoon flora, filled with salt-loving herbs like critmo marittimo and minutina, camelias, but also wisteria, roses, figs, hydrangea, and pomegranates.
